OUR FAVOURITE PLACES TO EAT
Heres this months round up of our favourite places to eat, only a hop and a jump from Guardswell Farm. From the best coffee near us, to the most delicious evening meals.
Where should you eat breakfast:
Opened in 2024 by Harris McNeil- who we work with reg-
ularly at Guardswell. Daily changing menu, locally sourced
produce, we’d eat there every day for every meal.
Grab a selection of their pastries and a take away coffee,
then find a spot to sit next to the River Tay. A divine start to
your day.
Grab a flattie or a matcha latte here:
Fraser has it nailed at EH9.
Probably the best coffee and the happiest people. Grab a
bagel to take away too. Two locations in Dundee.
If you’re arriving or leaving by train- grab a coffee here. Or
if you’re feeling energetic, they also have a run club and a
cycle club.
The Dundee coffee scene has really kicked off. A beautiful
space, great playlist and a few evening coffee events.
Eastfield, Dundee:
As we said- we’d go here for everything. If you have a
coffee here, don t miss their chocolate Guinness cake.
A lovely leisurely lunch:
Whether you fancy eating inside from their beautifully put to-
gether seasonal menu, or grabbing a pizza in the garden by
the River Tay, you will not be disappointed. You might even
spend all day here. Check out their supper clubs, outdoor
cinema nights and market garden events.
The Kinneauchar Inn, Kilconquhar:
This place is incredible! A bit of a drive, but build it into an
East Neuk itinerary. Don’t miss their pop-up appearances by
the likes of Fergus Henderson or Angela Hartnett.
Another East Neuk gem. Hazels food is insanely delicious. If
its on, you might also be there for a Bowhouse Market day.
They also do the odd pop up with Aeble in Anstruther- a
specialist cider shop.
Eastfield, Dundee:
Here he is again. Small plates, big plates, order all the
plates. Harris loves feeding people and we promise you wont
be disappointed, if you have to wait for a table; wait.
And evening meals too:
The perfect little wine shop with seriously good food. Includ-
ing pop up Mexican nights. Run by Californian chef Morgwn,
who has worked in spectacular restaurants all over the world.
Only a few wee tables.
The Taybank, Dunkeld:
Spend an evening in their dining room sampling chef
Gemmas wonderful menu- they have their own market gar-
den, so all veggies are straight from there. Head there on a
Thursday night for some live folk/scottish music in the bar.
A more traditional option- but wonderful Sunday lunch.
Beautiful location with lovely local walks and only a 20min
drive from Guardswell.
A favourite of ours for a delicious, uncomplicated dinner, not
too far away. Traditional French bistro in the centre of Perth.
The Grandtully Hotel, Grandtully:
Again, a little further away- but run by Ballintaggart, this
place is perfect for a wee treat- or stop in for lunch when in
Highland Perthshire.
